“Through speech therapy with Ms. Glenda, Jake has overcome the most debilitating aspects of his verbal apraxia. We now have many new opportunities to pursue that weren’t available to Jake before we met Ms. Glenda. I still can’t believe it when people tell me, “He sure is a TALKER, isn’t he?” –A.B., Swartz Creek, MI
“Every parent worries about what the future holds for their child. When my son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder I found all kinds of new worries. He started speech-language therapy at The Speech Language Center as a preschooler. All of the staff were so kind and welcoming it came to become one of his favorite places to go. He has made tremendous progress with his communication skills! We have great conversations now and his skills have improved so much that he was ready to be fully mainstreamed at school for kindergarten. There is no greater gift than to be able to communicate with your child. We still have a long road ahead, but my thoughts about my son’s future are much brighter…”- J.H. parent of son with ASD, Linden, MI
“We can’t say enough good things about the treatment our son and daughter received at The Speech Language Learning Center. They have been afforded opportunities that wouldn’t have been possible without the care they received from the awesome therapists. We didn’t feel that we were just a patient but actually family. We felt that each and every therapist had a genuine concern and love for our children and not to mention the significant speech progress they made!”- B.N. Fenton Township, MI
I am forever grateful to Jenny Hammill and the staff at SLLC. I was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder, and it greatly affected my ability to speak. I’m a wife and mother of three, and active in Toastmasters; speaking was a huge part of my life, and I was unable to communicate most of the time. Thanks to Miss Jenny’s skills, I have been able to regain my speech and now speak far more fluently than I was able to when the FND seizures began. But what has really made an impact on me was their kindness. The office was one of the few places I didn’t feel self-conscious about my apraxia. Tina was always kind and relaxed, and on the days when I was having a particularly difficult time, Miss Jenny was unhesitatingly compassionate and endlessly patient. I would recommend the center to anyone who is having difficulties with speech.
