Thank you for your interest in The Speech Language Learning Center. Established in 2006, our Flint Township Michigan speech clinic has a team of certified and highly qualified Speech Language Pathologists & Occupational Therapist who specialize in working with children and adults.

We are a full service private practice that provides evaluation, diagnosis, and individualized treatment. Our therapists have extensive experience in identification, and treatment of many disorders. These include autism, apraxia of speech, auditory processing disorders, cleft lip and/or palate, hearing impairment disorders, stuttering, motor and sensory and cognitive reorganization among many others. Speech Treatment — Glenda Locke in Flint Township, MI
Glenda Locke, M.A. CCC-SLP
Licensed and Certified
Glenda Locke is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and President of The Speech Language Learning Center, Inc. In this role, Glenda leads a team of highly qualified professionals in the field of Speech-Language Pathology. She has extensive experience providing individual and or group speech therapy services to children, adolescents and adults with a variety of neurological and developmental communication disorders including articulation, language, various syndromes, brain injury, apraxia of speech and autism spectrum disorders. Her passion is in early intervention services.
Glenda is a highly qualified Speech-Language Pathologist who obtained her Masters of Arts Degree from Michigan State University in 1992 in Speech Language Pathology. She holds the Certification of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and sits on the Legislative/Advocacy Committee of the Michigan Speech Language Hearing Association. She was employed in various work settings from skilled nursing facilities, group homes, and rehabilitation facilities to an outpatient clinic where she was employed for 7 years.

Glenda has designed and implemented a business plan to provide high quality, family focused speech therapy services in the community. She believes that all children in need of these services should be able to obtain them without barriers and at an affordable rate.

Glenda has implemented pediatric programs, supervised graduate students and Clinical Fellows. Glenda also has extensive experience and knowledge in school based interventions and works to coordinate those services to bridge the school year between the summer recess time and to prevent regression of already learned skills.
Speech Therapy — Carrie Walls in Flint Township, MI
Carrie Walls, M.A. CCC-SLP
Licensed and Certified
Carrie Walls is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and has been a part of our team since 2005. She has vast experience with pediatric and adult patients. Her experience extends to children with autism, those who are nonverbal, have Down Syndrome, swallowing disorders, and apraxia. She has worked with children with hearing impairments and/or cochlear implants and possesses knowledge of American Sign Language. She has worked with adults with voice disorders or who have acquired communication disorders following a stroke, closed head injury or laryngectomy.
Carrie obtained her Bachelor of Arts (1998) in Communication Disorders and Master of Arts in Communication Disorders (2001) from Central Michigan University and holds Certification of Clinical Competence from The American Speech Language Hearing Association (since 2001).

Carrie has extensive work experience in a variety of settings. She worked as an outpatient speech language pathologist for 8 years at McLaren’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Center and is now currently working for the Flint Community Schools along with her integral role at our clinic.
Occupational Therapy — Jennifer Hammill in Flint Township, MI
Jennifer Hammill, M.A. CCC-SLP
Licensed and Certified
Jenny Hammill is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and has been working at The Speech Language Learning Center since 2010. She has extensive experience with pediatric and adult patients. She works with children and adults of all ages with a wide range of communication disorders including articulation, language disorders, autism spectrum disorders, apraxia, hearing impairment, cleft lip and plate, various syndromes, neurological disorders, brain injury, and voice disorders.
Jenny is a highly qualified Speech-Language Pathologist who obtained her Bachelor of Science (1994) and Master of Arts (1995) degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from Central Michigan University. She has also earned a teaching certification from Michigan State University (2000) and holds Certification of Clinical Competence from The American Speech Language Hearing Association (since 1996).

Jenny has extensive work experience designing and implementing pediatric programs, supervising graduate students and clinical fellows, and serving in managerial roles. She worked for 15 years as a speech-language pathologist at McLaren in outpatient clinics.
Adult Speech Therapy — Angie Upleger in Flint Township, MI

Angie Upleger, M.A. CCC-SLP

Licensed and Certified

Angie Upleger is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and has been a part of our team since 2011. She has experience with both pediatric and adult patients. Her pediatric experience includes children with autism, Down Syndrome, apraxia, voice disorders, language delays and articulation impairments. She has worked with adults with voice disorders, those who have acquired communication disorders following a stroke or traumatic brain injury, and adults with swallowing disorders.
Angie obtained her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Language Pathology, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and Master of Arts in Speech and Language Pathology from Eastern Michigan University. She holds Certification of Clinical Competence from The American Speech Language Hearing Association. Angie has experience and knowledge in the special education process and school based therapies.

She currently works at Linden Charter Academy along with her role at our clinic. She works to ensure continued growth and development of each individual clients speech and language needs.
Natalie Green Occupational Therapist — Angie Upleger in Flint Township, MI

Natalie Green, Occupational Therapist

My name is Natalie Green. I am a mom of three amazing boys. My oldest is in middle school, middle son is in elementary school, and my youngest is an infant. We have two dogs, a fish, and a turtle. I am engaged to be married this year. When I am not at work, our evenings are full of soccer and karate. 


I have been an occupational therapist for nearly 10 years with a focus on pediatrics for the past 7 years. I received my master’s degree in occupational therapy in 2012 from Baker College Center for Graduate Studies. I am trained in feeding programs for picky eaters and complex feeding cases as well as ocular motor control, visual perception, balance, coordination, sensory integration, handwriting difficulties, fine motor delay, ADL skills, primitive reflexes, and much more! 



I have always had a passion for working with children and I enjoy filling their lives with joy. I was incredibly lucky to find such an amazing job that fits me perfectly! 

Adult Speech Therapy — Angie Upleger in Flint Township, MI

Laiken Bobcean, COTA/L

My name is Laiken Bobcean, COTA/L. I received my associates degree (associates in applied science) in 2018 from Mott Community College. I have clinical experience with both pediatrics and geriatrics. I studied for a summer at Mott Children’s Hospital treating a wide variety of diagnoses. I knew from the beginning of my education I wanted to work in pediatrics, I love the creativity and fun that it brings! 


I have a four-year-old son and I am engaged to be married this fall. I spend my free time traveling and adventuring with my family. I love learning and I always have an open mind and free spirit.
